FINE ARTThe Kumho Museum of Art aims to discover prospective up-and-coming artists that will spearhead the future of the Korean art scene, and to offer opportunities and studio space for artists to allow them to be fully committed to their work. In this globalization period, the Kumho Art Studio looks to foster the next generation of Korean artists who are likely to enhance the Korean art on a global level.
Since its founding in 2005 in Icheon, Gyeonggi province, the Kumho Art Studio has provided a residency and studio space for selected artists through a fair screening contest. The studio consists of 9 rooms in a single building, and runs an annual residency program where resident artists are able to devote time and space to their practice for one year. With Kumho Art Studio Exhibition and critique sessions as the backbone of the artists’ assessment, the artists-in-residence are granted a unique opportunity to enrich their creative instincts.
